OUR STORY

Almyinspiration began when my partner started growing strawberries alongside the pumpkins and other vegetables that we sold at local markets. Because of adverse weather conditions that first year, the question became, what do we do with the strawberries which were not quite good enough to sell?

I started making jam out of them, but there were far too much for us to eat, so I started taking the jam along to the markets to sell as well!

I decided to use the recipes from my mother's recipe books, which have been handed down through the generations, and using whatever was offered to me. This has enabled me to make things that you do not see in the supermarkets..

Now, with many friends offering fruit from their trees I make a large range of different Jams, Chutneys, Sauces and Pickles.

The local markets we go to are Mangawhai Market every Saturday morning, Waipu Boutique Market every second Sunday of the month at Coronation Hall, Waipu and Marsden Cove Market every third Sunday of the month in the big white marquee at Marsden Cove Marina, One Tree Point, Ruakaka.

We have samples to taste at all the markets. Come explore and find a new favourite!
